Privacy Policy

This policy explains what Ausdal Value Navigator (“the tool”) collects about you, how it is used, who can see it, and how to get a copy of it or have it deleted.

1. Who is responsible for your information

  • Ausdal Financial Partners (“Ausdal”, “we”) operates the tool and decides why and how your information is used. It is the controller of your personal information.
  • Idea Engine LLC, a Wisconsin limited liability company, built the tool and hosts it on Ausdal’s behalf. It is Ausdal’s service provider (processor): it handles your information only to run, secure and support the tool for Ausdal, and not for its own purposes. Sign-in emails come from its domain, idea-engine.studio.

2. Who the tool is for

The tool is for financial professionals in the United States who are at least 18 years old and are assessing their own practice. It is not directed to children, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18.

3. What we collect

Information you give us

  • Account: your email address and, if you provide it, your name. There is no password; you sign in with a one-time link emailed to you.
  • Practices: each practice’s name and affiliation model (for example RIA, hybrid, broker-dealer or insurance).
  • Valuation answers: the figures and answers you enter, such as revenue (by year or by range), revenue mix, owner income or earnings, assets under management, custodian, payout, debt and forgivable notes, deferred compensation, staffing, client concentration, succession plans and E&O coverage. The results we calculate from them (value range, readiness score, findings and scenarios) are stored with them.
  • Regulatory disclosure history: if you tell us whether you have disclosures or “marks” on your record, we store that answer. We do not look it up anywhere; it is used only to shape the risk factors in your own estimate and is visible only to you and Ausdal’s team.
  • Compatibility Profile answers and the profile calculated from them.
  • Build Your Brand answers, the website address you enter, the actions you tick off, and the results of an automated scan of that website (see section 4).
  • Earlier contact details: before sign-in was required, some reports asked for an email address and an optional name and phone number to unlock results. Those records are kept with your account.
  • Your choices: when you accepted the Terms of Use and this policy (and which version), and whether you agreed that Ausdal may contact you.

Information collected automatically

  • Activity in the tool: when you download a report, and when you ask to talk to Ausdal about a valuation.
  • IP address: used in memory to limit how often sign-in links and forms can be requested. It is not stored in the database.
  • Server logs: our hosting keeps request and error logs, which can include your email address, IP address, browser details and the pages you requested. They are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Visit counts: the tool counts browsing sessions as a single number for operational monitoring. The count does not identify you.

We do not collect Social Security numbers, account numbers, or payment card details, and the tool charges nothing.

4. How we use it

  • To sign you in and keep your practices, results and reports in your account.
  • To calculate your estimate, profile and brand results, and build your PDF reports.
  • Website scan: when you enter your own website in Build Your Brand, our server fetches that page once and checks it for structural signals (for example a page title, contact details, or an FAQ). We do not scan LinkedIn or other third-party profiles.
  • So that Ausdal can follow up with you: when you click “Talk to Ausdal”, or if you agreed that Ausdal may contact you. Ausdal may also email you about your account and the tool itself.
  • So that Ausdal can understand how the tool is used and improve its methodology. This does not involve any automated decision about you.
  • To keep the tool secure, prevent abuse, and fix problems.
  • To meet legal obligations and to enforce the Terms of Use.

No artificial-intelligence or machine-learning service processes your information, and your information is not used to train any model.

5. Who can see your information

  • You.
  • Ausdal’s authorised staff. A short, named list of Ausdal staff has an admin view that shows every account, practice, valuation, profile, brand assessment and contact request, including the figures you entered. Ausdal uses it to support advisors and to follow up on contact requests.
  • Idea Engine LLC, as Ausdal’s hosting and technology provider, only to operate, secure, back up and support the tool.
  • Anyone you give a report link to. Reports created before sign-in was required can be opened by anyone holding their private link until the report is claimed by an account. Reports in an account need that account’s sign-in.
  • Where the law requires it, for example in response to a valid court order, or to protect the rights and safety of users, Ausdal or others.
  • If Ausdal is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of assets, your information may transfer as part of it, subject to this policy.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. The tool runs no advertising or analytics trackers.

6. Contact from Ausdal

Agreeing that Ausdal may contact you is optional and separate from accepting the Terms. You can change your choice at any time on your account page. Any marketing email Ausdal sends will include a way to unsubscribe. Ausdal does not send text messages through the tool.

7. Service providers

The tool runs entirely on Amazon Web Services in the US East (N. Virginia) region, under Idea Engine LLC’s account: AWS Lambda and Amazon CloudFront (hosting and delivery), Amazon Aurora PostgreSQL through the RDS Data API (database), Amazon SES (sign-in and report emails), Amazon CloudWatch (logs, metrics and alarms), Amazon Route 53 (DNS and uptime checks) and AWS Secrets Manager (credentials). No other company receives your information through the tool.

8. Cookies and browser storage

The tool uses only these, all first-party and needed for it to work:

  • authjs.session-token, authjs.csrf-token and authjs.callback-url (with a __Secure- or __Host- prefix on the live site): keep you signed in, protect forms, and return you to the page you were on after sign-in.
  • vn_runs: links reports you ran before signing in to your account. HTTP-only.
  • value-navigator:last-seen (local storage) and value-navigator:session (session storage): make sure a visit is counted once.

There are no third-party, advertising or analytics cookies.

9. How long we keep it

  • Your account, practices, results and choices are kept until you delete them or your account, or ask us to.
  • Server logs are deleted automatically after 30 days.
  • Deleted data can remain in encrypted database backups for up to 7 days until those backups expire.
  • Reports created before sign-in was required and never claimed by an account are kept until you ask us to delete them.

10. Your choices and rights

  • Access and copy: download everything held about you as a file from your account page.
  • Delete: delete single results, a whole practice, or your account and everything in it from the tool at any time.
  • Correct: rename practices and re-run any tool; or email us.
  • Withdraw contact consent: on your account page.

You can also send any request to privacy@idea-engine.studio from the email address on your account, which is how we confirm it is you. We respond within 45 days. We honour these requests for everyone, whichever state you live in, and will not treat you differently for making one.

11. Security

Traffic is encrypted in transit (HTTPS with HSTS). The database is encrypted at rest and is reachable only through authenticated AWS API calls. Sign-in uses one-time email links with server-side sessions, and admin access is limited to a named list of accounts. No system is perfectly secure. If a breach affects your personal information, we will notify you and any authorities as the law requires, and Idea Engine LLC will notify Ausdal promptly.

12. Where your information is processed

The tool is intended for users in the United States, and your information is stored and processed in the United States.

13. Changes to this policy

When this policy changes we update the date at the top. If a change is material we will tell you by email or ask you to review it the next time you sign in.
